Yvonne is a multimedia artist who creates KILN FIRED and STAINED GLASS art pieces, ENCAUSTIC PAINTINGS, and JEWELRY in her San Juan Island Studio. Her inspiration comes from the natural surroundings of her lakeside home and from the pristine and mystical landscape of the Puget Sound. All her artworks incorporate the element of fire somewhere in their creation whether it is fusing glass, soldering metals or melting beeswax. It is her desire to use the magic of alchemy to manipulate these elements in order to create new and innovative forms of expression in both her artworks and in her line of wearable art. Yvonne’s art works are known for their unusual combinations of kiln fired glass and enamels in her stained glass panels; the handmade glass and enameled nuggets set in silver or copper-formed jewelry; the addition of glass elements in her encaustic panels; and her imaginative sculptures. This sophisticated blending of materials has become her artistic signature.
