Jean Shearer - My designs invite the negative space to balance the positive. To compliment and round out. I am hoping to capture a sense of inside and outside. Dark and light. Negative and positive. Up and down. Included and excluded. Maybe the space that an object contains is just as deserving to consider as the space the object takes up. My pieces relate to each other and evolve, each informing the next, creating a sense of familiarity or kinship.
Nicholas Coldren - My work is inspired by the timeless designs of Early Medieval furniture, blending ancient craftsmanship with modern refinement. Drawing from the simplicity, strength, and functionality of historical pieces, I focus on producing heirloom furniture that is both durable and aesthetically captivating. By honoring the traditional forms and materials, I aim to create functional art that is rooted in history while meeting the needs of contemporary life. Each piece is crafted from solid wood using age tested joinery ensuring that it will stand the test of time and be passed down for generations. Through my work, I strive to connect the past with the present, creating furniture that tells a story of enduring craftsmanship, utility, and beauty.
Christopher Umierski - I draw my inspirations from a deep connection with the universal themes of nature, time, sound and the human experience. I work with a multidisciplinary approach across many mediums including glass, ceramics and the visual arts.
